This is good to visit regularly. At regular intervals throughout your day, take to assess how you’re standing and how you are ‘holding’ your body.

If you imagine your hips and tailbone are the base of a boat, then, like a boat, where the base moves the rest of the boat follows.

If your hips, glutes and core are not functioning optimally and maintaining a balanced position, the rest of the body must compensate to keep you up and supported.

This often results in neck and shoulder pains, knee and foot problems, poor digestion, sluggish metabolism, fatigue, poor eye health, compressed lungs and limitation when breathing.

The Importance of Good Posture

Good posture is essential for overall health and well-being. When we work to straighten our spine and find skeletal alignment and balance, we do more than improve our posture. The length of the spine houses the seven main energy centres (chakras). We call on each centre often to help support our daily needs. Divine energy flows through these centres, and this flow becomes a direct “telephone line” to high knowledge. Some of this knowledge we can consciously interpret, and some of it heals and supports us with little conscious effort.

Each emotion that we experience can indicate which chakras are causing a restriction in the flow of divine higher vibration. For instance, if you are feeling depressed, it may indicate that your root chakra, which governs your sense of security and stability, is blocked or imbalanced.

Similarly, physical ailments in the body can also be a sign of the imbalances present in our chakras. For example, if you are experiencing digestive issues, it may indicate that your solar plexus chakra, which governs your sense of self-esteem and personal power, is not functioning correctly.
