Our posture begins from the feet up!
If we have stiff and inflexible toes, we automatically try to find more movement in other areas such as the hips and knees to enable us to walk. Unfortunately, the hips and knees will not move in a healthy and efficient way in order to achieve this. This, in turn, causes a compensatory response in the spine and ultimately our posture.
This video provides techniques that will open the toes, stretch the ankles, stabilise the knees and support the hips. When we learn to improve posture and full skeletal alignment, we are able to progress on our yoga journey with ease and enthusiasm, gain more from each asana (posture) and improve our general health and well-being.
